          Matej IV.A

          Matúš IV.A

          Barbora III.B

          3. Aké činnosti ste počas stáže vykonávali?

Kontrolovali sme lekárske prehliadky zamestnancov, triedili sme zoznam klientov, vytvárali sme zoznam bývalých zamestnancov, kontrolovali sme dochádzku zamestnancov, spracovali sme online kurz do papierovej podoby...

          Veronika IV.B
Počas praxe v Tactic Surf Shop sme väčšinou vykonávali inventúru rôznych značiek oblečenia, ktorú sme zapisovali do Excelových tabuliek, komunikovali zo zákazníkmi a pracovali s web stránkou obchodu.

          Sabina IV.B

Triedila som faktúry, zapisovala ich do Excelu, menila cenovky, dokladala tovar do regálov, triedila a ukladala škatule na víno.

          Romana III.B
V práci som komunikovala s hosťami po anglicky, robila som check-in, check-out, prijímala rezervácie a následne ich triedila podľa dátumov do daných zásuviek a zakladačov. Mala som taktiež možnosť zdvihnúť telefonáty.

          Liana III.A

          Jennifer IV.A

          5. Odporučili vy ste účasť zahraničnej praxi budúcim tretiakom/štvrtákom,
          zdôvodnite?

Určite áno, je to jedinečná príležitosť ísť do zahraničia v mladom veku, pracovať tam, získať veľa nových skúsenosti, zážitkov a mnoho iného.

          Diana IV.A
Určite by som účasť odporučila, pretože sme získali veľa nezabudnuteľných zážitkov, spoznali sme veľa nových ľudí, krajinu a navštívili veľa krásnych miest.

          Liana III.A
Určite by som prax odporučil, je to veľmi dobrá príležitosť spoznať nový svet, ich kultúru, pamiatky, zvyky tradície. Ďalej vám prax dá príležitosť rozvinúť svoje schopnosti a naučiť sa aj niečo nové.

        • An internship in Barcelona

My name is Jennifer, and I am a student at Business Academy. This year, as a fourth-year student, I had the chance to participate in Erasmus+. Based on my experience from the last year, I knew this would also be an amazing opportunity filled with wonderful memories. We traveled on the 12th of September in the early hours by bus to the airport in Vienna, and then we flew by plane to Spain-Barcelona. Once we arrived, we were accommodated in the student dormitory Aparto Pallars, where we stayed until the 25th September. It was in a quiet neighborhood, and the metro station was nearby, so we could quickly explore the city. The workplace I worked in was called “Hip Karma Hostel”. Everyone there was welcoming and willing to help me with anything, and even though they were Spanish they made sure we understood each other. My work was very interesting, I had the opportunity to handle everything from check-ins and check-outs to payment processing, inventory management, and even preparing rooms for guests. Each day brought new challenges, and I learned so much about both the job and Spanish culture. Every day, our teachers had planned activities for us. We visited important landmarks such as the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, and we enjoyed a guided tour through Barcelona. If I had to sum up my experience, I would say that it was incredible and unforgettable, filled with amazing memories. Erasmus gave me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally. It allowed me to develop my language skills and gain valuable work experience in a new culture. I am also very thankful for this opportunity because chances like this don’t come around every day.

          Jennifer IV.A

I had the opportunity to complete a professional internship abroad, namely in Barcelona from 12th Oct. to 25th Oct. 2024. All our group was accommodated in the street Carrer de Pallars in a student residence called Aparto Pallars which, in my opinion, is a great place mainly if you are a student. The beds were comfortable, you had air conditioning and warm water in the shower so there was nohing that you would miss. I commuted to work by metro because I worked in a 4-star hotel called Rosellón Hotel. I worked there 5 times a week, six hours a day. My job was to record reservations and allocate guests to individual rooms by date. In this area, I was mainly familiar with the program and its functions, which were not complicated at all. I responsibly followed the manager's orders and responded directly to customers ́ complaints. Another intersting part of the internship, after work, was exploring the city. We discovered the beauty of Barcelona itself. We visited lots of famous places of interest with the whole group or individually. The internship at Hotel Rossellón was a valuable experience for me. It allowed me to acquire practical skills in the field of customer service and teamwork. I learned to communicate effectively with guests and
respond to their needs, which strengthened my communication skills in a foreign language. This experience directed me towards my future career ambitions in the area of hotel management and accounting. And I also saw the beauty of Barcelona as we always had constant trips all over the city. I loved most the beach that was really breathtaking, Moreover I could get to know Spanish customs and I had the opportunity to try their local food which war really good but not as good as our Slovak food. Thank you very much for the guidance and for this great opportunity to try it out.

          Liana III.A

Our journey started at 2 o ́clock in the morning. After 12 hours we finally arrived at our accommodation. I flew for the first time. It was the biggest adventure which I have ever tried. We were very excited about Barcelona. As soon as possible we went to the nearest coast to explore the beautiful seaside. The next day we visited Montjuic Castle. The weekend passed and we started working. I worked with Tatiana in Ronda de Dalt Residencial. Ronda de Dalt Residential - Nursing Home in Barcelona is a residence aimed at the elderly and offers a great quality of life to all its residents. We worked there for 10 days 6 hours per day in the office. Our work was focused on working with documents. We created tables and lists in Word and Excel. Also, we worked with their Personal program - GEROSALUS. Every evening we spent time outside. The weather was beautiful. We could see almost all of the famous sights in Barcelona like Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, harbour, National Museum of Arts and so on. The whole internship gave me a lot of experience, knowledge and memories. We created perfect friendships between us, students. If I could, I would like to experience it again. I am thankful to everyone who traveled with us, to our mentor in the Residence and in the end to our wonderful teachers that we were able to travel for 2 weeks so far away with us.

          Veronika IV.B

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Matej B..... and I am a student of the 4th grade at Business Academy in Ružomberok. Also this year our school took part in Erasmus+ program. At first students had o write CVs and cover letters in both the Slovak and English languages. Consequently we had an admission interview in three languages and I was selected for an internship to Barcelona. Our journey started when we came to Vienna by bus. At 10:30 a.m. we were waiting for our check-in in Vienna airport and then we flew to Barcelona. When we landed, Dominka, the representative of an intermediary organisation, was waiting for us and she took us to the Aparto Pallars residence to get accommodated. We arrived on Saturday, so we still had Sunday free to get to know the surroundings. The next day we were accompanied to workplaces. I worked in Jungle Coworking which was a shared workspace for freelancers doing their business. The fouder of this company and also my mentor Ricardo Leal explained to me how it works there and he wanted me to make two presentations about exploring Barcelona and coworking spaces. During this two weeks of practise, we had the opportunity to explore the city of Barcelona, we travelled by public transport, we went on many trips, we got to know the culture, customs and traditions of the local people. I was most pleased to have a swim in the sea because it was pleasantly warm, it had a sandy beach and beautiful sunsets. I also tried the traditional local seafood cuisine. If I were to evaluate this internship, I would say a few positives and negatives. What I liked and I was surprised by that there were many trees and plants everywhere, we got a room with our own kitchen and TV in a living room, if you didn’t catch a bus or other means of transport, another one came every 10 minutes or you could download an app for renting a motorbike or scooter. Everyone I met spoke good. English and was kind and helpful, my mentor was very forgiving and friendly and almost every day we went and explore the city Barcelona. On the contrary, I had to cope with some situations because where I worked there were a lot of people of different races and religions, hotel was cleaned once every two weeks, local merchants didn’t have price tags on their goods and people were often misleaded because of that. It’s not the most pleasant to wait two hours at the airport before departure and it’s not easy to solve misunderstandings with people if you don’t speak the language good. To sum up, travelling to other countries is very interesting activity, it’s important to know the information before arriving in the country. The best is when you travel with friends, many funny situations can happen, I can only recommend it to everyone who wants to travel and explore new locations. You never know what you will experience and who you will meet. You often recognise yourself in different situations.

In October 2024, I participated in an internship in Barcelona within the Erasmus+ program, which supports education, training, and sports for young people in Europe. We flew to Barcelona by plane, after arrival a bus took us to our accommodation. Through the whole the program, we stayed in a university dorm, close to the metro station, shopping center and the beach. All of us traveled to work by metro which taught us independence. I had the opportunity to improve my English communication skills in the work environment and also picked up a few Spanish words and phrases. I gained new work skills, learnt about the world of work in Spain, and what it means to be an
accountant. We were provided with a half board – breakfast and dinner. Every day after work, food boxes for two
people awaited us at the reception. I had some concerns about lunch since we didn't have it arranged (however, we got money for it), but there was enough in the boxes to last us for lunch as well. Almost every day after work, we had a planned program. We saw the famous Sagrada Família basilica, visited the well-known Park Guell, and went to Montjuic hill, which we accessed by cable car and it gave us a wonderful view of Barcelona. It was an amazing and unforgettable experience for me, which I definitely recommend to anyone who has the opportunity to join this program. It showed me a different world and way of life than it is here in Slovakia.

Travelling, means of trasnport - Travelling to Barcelone was quite difficult, because we had to set off really early, we met at 2 a.m. right in front of our school. We were travelling to the airport by microbus. It was pretty comfortable because we went directly to the airport. When we got to the airport in Vienna, we waited around 3-4 hours for our flight. The flight took about 2 hours so it went by quickly. When we got to Barcelona, we got our luggage and a bus was waiting for us which dropped us right in front of our accomodation. In Barcelona we were using the subway to get around the city quickly. Only bad side about the subway is the overcrowdedness. Accommodation – We stayed at student ́s residency called Aparto Pallars. The rooms were very luxury, bathroom was clean, we had a common room on our floor. The common room consisted of a kitchen and a living room with a big couch and a TVset. On the very bottom floor there was a service space that every resident could use. There was a games room, cinema, gym, laundry room and much more. I was really satisfied with accomodation, I can ́t say one bad thing about it. Food – We were receiving food in big boxes and each box was for two people. The boxes consisted of one small box for brekfast, two boxes for dinner and lunch, also some dessert and liquids. I was also satisfied with the food. It was tasty and filling so it served its purpose. Trips – The trips we experienced were all well organised, we could visit some really interesting sights and it was all very beautiful. I enjoyed all of the trips. Work – I think, I can say I got the best work and the best supervisor. Tony didn ́t want to hold us in the work like in jail. He gave us a lot of free time and not much work to do, so this really helped me to explore the city on my own. Benefits for the future – This stay abroad intership gave me an opportunity to develop my language skills, independence, communication skills, orientation ability. It also gave me so much good memories and improved my relationships with classmates.

Our internship lasted for 14 days, from 12th October to 25th October 2024. Our journey began in front of the school, where a bus was waiting for us to take us to Vienna Airport. From there we flew to the airport in Barcelona. When we all picked our suitcases, we waited for the bus that took us to the accommodation. We were accommodated in the university dormitory called Aparto Pallars. The accommodation was modernly furnished, we had beautiful rooms and a large shared kitchen with a living room. Over the internship I worked at Tactic Surf Shop. Every day, except Sunday, we worked from 11 a.m to 2:30 p.m and then we had a break. After break from 4:30 p.m to 7 p.m. we kept working. During these two weeks, we made an inventory of clothes of various brands. We recorded the size, number of pieces, colour, model and product number in Excel tables. Our mentor was kind, helpful and very funny, whenever he started singing or dancing. When we had free time, we went on many trips and got to know the city. We had the opportunity to meet. Lucia, who comes from Slovakia and in Spain she runs her own shops, where she sells amazing cookies. We visited beautiful monuments, parks, the beach, and we had a guided city tour. I am very grateful that I could be a part of this internship, because I have many memories that I will
remember for the rest of my life. I hope that I will be a part of this program next year, too.
